After a significant R&D study on its award-winning Mono platform, BAC is now pleased to announce the carbon-ceramic brake option, bringing the world’s most intuitive, dynamic purist's supercar even closer to its formula racing antecedents.
Providing superior braking performance and durability for road and track use, the kit - featuring upgraded disc assemblies, pads and callipers - is available as an optional alternative to the standard steel discs. Retailing at £8,250+VAT, the carbon-ceramic brake kit is a 50% weight saving on the standard brakes, weighing in at a paltry 2.5kg per corner. The champagne anodised bells - a finish unique to the kit - complete the look.
Designed in collaboration with Ellesmere Port based carbon-ceramic brake specialists Surface Transforms, the research and development was supported by a grant from the Niche Vehicle Network’s R&D programme; an industry group for specialist UK vehicle manufacturers.
The project aim was to develop a carbon-ceramic brake system for lightweight niche vehicles using Surface Transforms patented next-generation brake technology to reduce unsprung weight and improve handling and performance.
BAC will be showcasing Mono’s new brake option at the Performance Car Show at Autosport International this week (9th-12th January). Please come and pay us a visit on stand 19232.
