Surface Transforms signs contract with Chamois

Surface Transforms PLC, a UK-based internationally recognised developer, manufacturer and supplier of carbon-ceramic materials and the UK’s only manufacturer of carbon-ceramic brakes for automotive use, has signed a contract with the marketing and communications agency, Chamois Consulting Ltd. Under this contract, Chamois will provide an integrated marketing and communications service with a particular focus on brand communications and PR to help raise the profile and awareness of Surface Transforms PLC, globally.

Surface Transforms PLC utilises proprietary next-generation carbon-ceramic material – CCST – to create lightweight brake discs for high-performance automotive applications. Surface Transforms has extensive in-house engineering and manufacturing capabilities, including all the skills and facilities required for volume manufacturing of their carbon-ceramic brake discs.

The unique 3D matrix carbon-ceramic weave technology developed by Surface Transforms produces a stronger and more durable product with three times the heat conductivity compared to their competitors. This reduces the brake system operating temperature, resulting in increased life of components whilst maintaining at least the same brake performance. Surface Transforms’ unique patented carbon-ceramic technology provides the ultimate braking performance for road, track and other specialist applications.

Of particular note to both Surface Transforms and Chamois is the fact that the contract was put in place during the Covid-19 lockdown period, resulting in the parties on both sides not having met each other face to face prior to contract award. For both companies this has been a clear demonstration of how innovation, determination and adaptability can allow business to continue in these uncertain and challenging times.

Leigh Welch, Sales Director at Surface Transforms said: “We are excited to start this new partnership with Chamois. We had already identified a requirement to increase our focus on external communications but the added constraints of COVID-19 have driven us to look for additional and more creative ways to engage with our customers and markets. Chamois have been given a clear remit to help place the Surface Transforms brand more firmly on the global map in order to raise awareness and to reach and grow our target audiences”.

Jamie Clarke, CEO at Chamois said: “I’m so pleased to have signed this contract with Surface Transforms adding yet another client to our portfolio in the performance automotive and motorsport sectors; a priority strategic aim for Chamois. Surface Transforms are a fantastic company with exciting products and we’re really looking forward to starting work”. He added “This contract is one of three new accounts we’ve brought onboard during the lockdown period, working through restrictions that made it impossible to meet those involved in person. Life has not been easy for any of us during the last 12 months but we’re finding ways to overcome the constraints and continue to grow”.
